     2. For Young People

Our organization's members consist of more than 162 young people in Batman city. SEHA is the only NGO that works totally for young people’s needs compared to public and private bodies. In Batman city, most youth NGOs and public bodies consider SEHA a roof organisation for youth activities because of the experiences of the SEHA staff.
There are more than 180.000 young people in our city. Most are unaware of youth works and activities in Europe and Turkey. SEHA tries to attract those young people to youth organisations and centres. SEHA is the first youth NGO to implement the Youthwork European Union quality Framework (Erasmus+ and ESC).
Our organisation has been founded to contribute to improving youth policies in Turkey and Europe. The specific aims of SEHA are:
● to provide solidarity among youth in BATMAN city,
● to encourage young individuals’ entrepreneurial spirits,
● to help young individuals acquire knowledge, skills and competencies,
● to support the efforts to contribute to the integration of all disadvantaged youth
in their communities.
● to support young people to conduct studies in the field of social, cultural,
educational, health, sports, science and arts.
As soon as SESAD was founded as an NGO, SEHA initiated organising training activities such as courses, seminars, conferences, symposiums and panels for youth capacity development Thanks to its ready and experienced youth workers and academics who already work at different organisations. To realize our main aim as a founder team, focus on especially Erasmus+ projects. At the local level, one of our activities is organizing local training programmes for the personal and professional development of young people in BATMAN city. Through international projects and activities, SEHA wants to extend its organisational capacity by enlarging its goals by including young people from other cities and countries.
SEHA is primarily active in BATMAN City, which has over 180.000 young people. However, no active NGO or public organisation introduces European values and solidarity in the city, which is a big gap between the expectations of young people and the offered opportunities. SEHA is working to fill that gap and be a bridge between the young people of the city and the European opportunities, which are waiting for them. In European Values, BATMAN does not have as many youth workers as needed, while the existing youth workers don’t know what and in which concept to do. Therefore, SEHA fosters the quality of youth workers, who mostly work in different youth organisations, by supporting their professional development.

               3. For the Prevention of Violence

SEHA, in Turkish SESAD (Sürdürülebilir Eğitim ve Sağlık Akademisi Derneği), is a forward-thinking non-profit organization situated in the eastern part of Türkiye, focusing on enhancing education and health through innovative approaches to violence prevention and resilience. This organization is distinctive for its strategic placement in a region that faces unique social and educational challenges, making its mission even more critical. Despite being a newcomer to the field, SEHA has quickly established itself as a key player in promoting a comprehensive understanding of violence and its prevention, both academically and within the community.

SEHA's scope of work is to develop interdisciplinary curricula that address critical issues such as domestic, extreme, digital, and teenage violence, integrating comprehensive insights from humanities, social sciences, health sciences, and digital technologies. This holistic approach facilitates a more inclusive, interconnected, and comprehensive educational landscape on violence studies, directly aligning with the Erasmus+ framework and priorities.

With a dedicated team of professionals, SEHA uses the expertise of experienced staff members with a rich background in Erasmus+ projects, violence studies, and local community engagement. The organization's team comprises paid staff and volunteers, including academic researchers, educators, project managers, and community activists. Though SEHA is in its growth phase, its team's dedication and expertise enable it to impact the communities it serves substantially.

The organization's activities are tailored to foster international and inter-institutional collaborations, enhancing the quality and accessibility of violence prevention education. Through detailed needs analysis, curriculum development, pilot implementations, and inclusive teaching strategies, SEHA aims to equip learners with the necessary tools to contribute effectively to a safer society.
